Work Location: Hybrid Work Schedule (3-days office/ 2-days remote) with domestic travel 25% of time.


POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Logistics and Transportation Business Development Representative/ Outside Sales Representative will play an integral role in driving our business growth and expanding our client base in the US territory for DAL USA.  We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented individual who can leverage their industry knowledge, network, and business development skills to identify and secure new business opportunities.  Will maintain and build relationships with current and prospective customers with the responsibility of achieving and exceeding assigned revenue goals, quotas, and strategic initiatives.  Hybrid work schedule.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attract new prospects and develop a robust sales pipeline.
  • Establish pipeline of account prospects through continuous communications and engagement.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities through effective sales techniques.
  • Maintains and builds relationships with current and prospective customers.
  • Achieve and exceed assigned revenue goals, new business sales quotas, and objectives.
  • Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to potential clients.
  • Professionally manage sales process from the identification through solution design, to the negotiation and close of new business.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with customers.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, quotes, and sales proposals and agreements for potential and current clients.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver on the pre-determined sales plan and strategic initiatives.
  • Create business development plans by account and market search to meet assigned revenue goals.
  • Engage with prospects through various channels, such as cold-calling, email campaigns, in-person visits, networking events, and conferences, to create meaningful connections and promote our services.
  • Arrange and meet with potential accounts and clients, including some travel.
  • Regularly update and maintain CRM software/system.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers; anticipate customer requirements and provide solutions.
  • Understand customer needs and provide tailored logistics solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor analysis, and emerging opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives.
  • Stay informed about competitors and industry developments.
  • Work closely with the operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Provide regular sales reports, updates on business development activities, sales pipeline and revenue forecast to management.
  • Participate in sales meetings and training sessions.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics or in a related field is preferred.  Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or relevant work in Outside Sales and Customer Service experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of proven sales experience in the transportation, 3PL logistics or brokerage industry with a successful track record.
  • Proven track record of achieving/exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Experience with presentations and professional presenting to potential, current clients, and workplace audience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish language is a plus.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications:  Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Exp. with Teams and Zoom video-conferencing systems and software.
  • Proficiency in CRM’s and Transportation Management Systems (TMS); ability to quickly learn in-house, customized systems/software.
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation and 3Pl Logistics services, including freight forwarding, warehousing, distributions, and supply-chain management.
  • Strong understanding of the industry’s competitive landscape, market trends, and customer needs.
  • Strong interpersonal/relationship building, negotiation, and communication skills. Exceptional negotiation and persuasion abilities to close deals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • Detail-oriented; ability to conduct detailed procedures with accuracy in a time constraint environment.
  • Strong multitasking skills to handle various customers’ accounts.
  • Strong sense of time-management, organization skills and urgency.
  • Strong customer-focused skills with experience working with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally. 
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to constant change and react to changing priorities; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Results-oriented, ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Solution-oriented mindset is required to resolve customer issues.
  • Ability to exercise effective judgement, sensitivity, creativity to changing customer needs and situations.
  • Ability to Travel:  25%  and possess a valid driver’s license for local travel.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Hybrid office environment setting and frequent customer interactions over the phone, email, and/or in-person.
  • Utilizing standard office equipment including laptop computer, mouse, keyboard, copier, calculator, etc.
  • Physical and mental demands of this role include those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, as outlined above. Examples include operating a computer and other office type equipment, thinking and concentrating effectively, frequently communicating with people over the phone, email, and/or in-person. Ability to handle the stress associated with meeting frequent, multiple and tight deadlines, ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as workload and deadlines may require, ability to have regular, reliable attendance.
